YIKES!! Is exactly what Tony said when he stepped on the scale this morning. He normally weighs in on Sunday morning before he goes to work, but because we didn’t get home till last night from vacation he did his weigh in today. He figured even before getting on the scale it wasn’t going to be good.. but he was not expecting this. If you look at the above stats, he GAINED #5. But, he actually would feel better if it were only #5. He weighed himself on Wednesday morning before we left and he had actually hit is goal, plus one. He was down to #174. He figured he would put on a few pounds on vacation but was not happy to see he had put on that many. But, when he told me this morning after weighing himself how upset he was at that number I reassured him that it is only a number and not a gauge on how he feels. And, he felt great all weekend. Yes, he ate. But not even close to what he ate last year at our Rock Fest vacation. See, they feed us 2 times a day. The food is great! But, generally Tony fills his plate, then goes back for more. This year he never went back a second time. And, he stayed away from the sweets and carbs. He did have a few of his Rock Fest favorites like a jumbo taco from a taco stand and some fried foods. But, we actually walk so much thru the day and sweat that it sorta evens things out. But to be fair, I even gained #5. I know I can lose that this week just because I am not drinking beer, eating more than normal and snacking. But, like I said.. he feels good and honestly he looks great!
I went to town on last Tuesday to do some shopping since he needed new pants and shorts. I came home with size 32 waist pants and shorts and he was like….I think they are gonna be to small. He was shocked when he put them on, and they fit perfect!! So, from a size 36 waist to a 32 waist to me is a huge accomplishment, regardless of a number on a scale. And, he wore the same size all weekend, and even today. So, even though the number on the scale moved I think it is water weight and he will be fine in a week. He is back on the meal plan and portions so he will be good to go.
Here is us rocking out at Rock Fest. We had so much fun that the few pounds gained was worth it. But, back on track and forging forward. Now he plans on reaching for a goal of #170. I know he can do it, this was just a little bump in the road.
