I have always been a big country music fan, and have loved Loretta Lynn for years. I remember hearing her music while growing up as my Mom and Grandma were big fans. It wasn’t till recently though, when I realized I had a passion for travel, that I really thought about her and the fact that she had a ranch where fan’s could stay and tour. I have seen her movie many many times, and even sing one of her songs in my band. So, hubby and I figured it was time to check out the ranch for ourselves on our last trip to Florida. Since we drove to Florida, we planned our route so we could stay close to the ranch and get up and tour and then be on our way. Well, little did we know, till we were driving down the road and I looked up the LL Ranch on my phone, that they had cabins one can rent. So, one phone call to the ranch, spoke to a great gal with a sweet southern accent, and we were booked for a night in a Loretta Lynn Cabin. It was late when we arrived to the ranch, and our info for check in was hanging on a hook outside the front office door, and our cabin was open and ready for us. Wow.. that makes one feel so at home and comfortable right off the bat! Upon finding our cabin, our mouths dropped and we fell in love. We sorta got lost looking for the cabin since it was dark and we had never been there. We took a tour of the whole place and before we knew it, we were right in front of Loretta Lynn’s home (the ranch home). WOW again!! It might have been dark out, but my heart skipped a beat just knowing I was near greatness.
We finally found our cabin, and parked and proceeded to unload the truck. This is the cutest cabin I have ever stayed in. And, this one is Honky Tonk Girl.. Which fits me perfect! See the sign. Did you know that I’m a Honky Tonk Girl is the first single Loretta released. I actually bought a t-shirt while we were there that said “Honky Tonk Girl” on it. Love that shirt, loved this cabin, love Loretta!!
Like I said, it was dark when we got there. Here is an evening shot of our cabin for the night.
Not only were we in love with the outside, the setting of it, and the fact we were not far from where Loretta actually lives, but check out how great the inside is. I swear.. I could live here! This is the inside view, from standing in the doorway. There is even a loft. Cute!!
Here is the kitchen area. Just a microwave, coffee pot, toaster oven and fridge. What more does one need, right ? There was a grill outside too.
Here is me looking down at my adorable husband, from up in the loft. Isn’t he cute 😉
Check out the bed in the loft. So cozy up there.
How about these cool pictures and the frames they are in. Love them!!
Here was our bedroom. I just love the furniture! This bed is log, my favorite. The bathroom sink is next to the bed which might seem strange. But, I think maybe these cabins didn’t have running water or toilets/showers and such when they were first built. Not sure, but that might explain why the sink is there.
Check out this door going to the toilet area. It’s like an outhouse door. Love it!
What’s behind door number 1 ? Well it’s the potty of course. Just like an outhouse.. so cute!
How about a nice hot shower in the morning? Don’t mind if I do! This shower was so neat. Had it’s own little dressing room area.
This cabin was perfect. It was truly refreshing and made us feel so comfortable and like we were at home. Take a look at the goodies left on the table. All kinds of info about Loretta Lynn and the ranch. Even a couple coffee mugs. And, you could take the mugs, but you would have a charge on your credit card… 😉 Of course, silly me forgot to take one. Darn.. I want a Loretta Lynn mug!!
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Loretta Lynn cabin. We plan to go back very soon. We did take a tour of the ranch, so keep an eye here for the post about that. You will love all the info and pictures, I promise! You can learn more about Loretta Lynn on Wiki if you want.
I love to book most of my travel with Expedia.com because you can get some of the best deals there. Check them out.
