Tis the Season for Apples and what better thing can we do with them than bake yummy desserts!
Cinnamon Apple Crumble, made with product from Tastefully Simple.
I had these apples just staring at me and I was trying to come up with a new twist on the regular apple crisp recipe everyone uses. So, I was looking thru my baking cupboard and drawer and came across a package of Almond Pound Cake, which is to die for on it’s own. But, my eyes lit up and my brain started to smoke and all of a sudden it hit me. I can use this for a new twist.
3-4 Large Apples, Peeled and cut into chunks
4 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 – 3/4 Cup Caramel Sauce
1 Package Almond Pound Cake ~ $6.99 at Tastefully Simple
1 Stick of Butter
Peel and cut apples into chunks, and mix well with 2 tsp of cinnamon and all the caramel.
You might need more or less depending on how big your apples were.
Melt butter in pan on stove or in microwave and mix with the package of Almond Pound Cake and 2 tsp cinnamon.
Spread apple mixture into a 9×9 or 8×8 pan that you have sprayed with non stick spray.
Sprinkle butter/cake mixture over top of apples. You can sprinkle more cinnamon if you like on top too.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 – 25 minutes or until apples are done and top is brown.
This was so ooey, gooey good that it was gone in one night, by 3 of us. LOL
The blend of cinnamon and caramel and the taste of the almond in the pound cake just blended perfect.
