Health Testing Centers
Health Testing Centers provides several health related tests and screenings. Instead of needing to make an appointment with your doctor for lab tests, you can conveniently order tests online. What’s even more convenient is some tests are sent right to your home. Others you can complete at a local lab, either walk-in or by appointment.
How it Works
You go to their website to order the tests you want. Payments are by credit card or Paypal. Your FSA or HSA credit is, also, acceptable. However, they will not bill your insurance. After your payment, you can choose what lab to complete your testing. If your test is home-based one, you’ll receive it in 5-7 days in the mail. Completed tests are processed and results are available by logging into your account.
No Doctor’s Visit Needed
Usually when you needed a test, you would go to your doctor and have him/her order it. But, with Health Testing Centers, when you need a test, you simply order it online. Your order is sent to an independent third-party physician network for approval. Tests are kept private; only you and approving physician have access. If you want your doctor to see the results, you can print off the results to take to with you.
Types of Tests
The types of tests available through Health Testing Centers includes many from allergy to vitamins. They have very specific testing such pregnancy or a vitamin deficiency. Additionally there are packages offering several tests grouped for a specific purpose or person, such as Women’s Basic Wellness or Women’s Cancer Screening. Some of the at-home test kits include saliva tests for of Estradiol (E2), Testosterone, DHEA and Cortisol (x1) in Men, and Cardiac Health Blood Spot for measuring he levels of hs-CRP and Hemoglobin A1C with your Total Cholesterol, LDL, HDL and Triglycerides. There are really too many tests to list them all but you can see them all on their website.
I actually found this pretty easy to do. I ordered up the Adrenal Stress Saliva Test. I have often wondered if I was having adrenal issues and like most I Google everything when I am not feeling well and it seemed according to what I found, that I could be having adrenal issues. So, I was excited to get that test done.
I got my kit ordered and when it came I read thru everything and set a day I knew I would be here all day so I could do the spit test properly. This test measures the level of Cortisol and DHEA in the body throughout the day. Four saliva samples must be collected for this test. I followed all instructions and got my test collection done thru the day and off in the mail the next morning.
I really did think it was going to give me results saying I had adrenal issues. Living with Fibromyalgia I am always hoping there is something else underlying that might be causing all my issues. But, my results of this test showed all my levels were where they should be. So, back to the drawing board for me! Not that I am upset because I don’t have adrenal issues. I am very happy about the results, just was hoping that maybe I had something else that was more manageable, going on. In any case, I am happy.
They offer so many types of test kits that if you are in question and just need answers to whatever you might have going on I suggest you check them out. They are fast, and it’s easy to follow the instructions on the home kits. Also, if you have one of their labs close to you, you can go there for any testing you need done as well.
