Sleep is one of the most important parts of your day. Add in healthy eating and exercise and you have a well rounded day and can tackle all your daily “to do” lists. For me, sleep is never very good, because I can’t seem to shut my brain off. But, having a comfy bed helps my body relax and me not wake up in pain the next day. Living with health issues that cause pain no matter what position one sleeps in can make for a challenging night sleep. (Disclosure) I was so excited when I was able to try out the Nectar Mattress and share my review. We have tried many mattresses in the last 20 years and I really researched this one before accepting it for review as I didn’t want to have to return it.
The Nectar mattress is made up five layers. The breathing base layer is for support to reinforce the next layers. It’s followed by three layers of memory foam: adaptive hi core, gel memory foam and quilted gel memory foam. And, then it’s topped with a cooling cover. Unlike other mattresses with cooling layers, Nectar’s uses breathing airflow and woven fabric. Some brands use a chemical gel spray or shallow holes. I did read some reviews that said this mattress had a bad odor for a while, however I experienced no smell/odor at all.
Because it’s memory foam, it’s shipped rolled up in a convenient duffel bag. After I removed it from the duffle bag, I found it securely wrapped in another package, plus in airtight plastic packaging to keep the mattress compact until opening. I had a blast opening this as you can see below in my video. I found it fun, and exciting to see it puff up and reach it’s full size.
It took me a couple days to adjust to the mattress and now, I love it. Hubby on the other hand just isn’t sure. He has other issues and we know why he can’t sleep, but he is stubborn and won’t get the help he needs ( MEN )!! However, I find that I don’t wake as sore as I used to. I am a side sleeper and find my shoulder/neck isn’t as sore as it used to be. I also find I can fall asleep on my back a lot easier and sleep on my back longer as I am comfortable. I would recommend the Nectar Mattress to anyone looking for a change from their old mattress. You can’t go wrong with the 365 night sleep guarantee.
Now, the pillows that come with the bed start out flat, but they puff up, huge. We tried to use them the first couple nights and they were just to much for my husband and I. However, weeks later I had an idea, to remove most of the filling from them and now, I love mine. I do think I need to take a bit more filling out, but have been using it a couple weeks now and it’s way better on my neck and head. And, I have a ton of filling to use for other pillows for guest beds and on the couch. I was shocked at how much fill was in each pillow.
Nectar has a great forever warranty and a 1 year sleep trial. Plus they offer free shipping and free returns. And you can’t beat the price at $795 for a queen. Many other brands vary $850 to $3200.
