Earning money so one can travel, and saving money on travel.. these are two of my favorite things! I love finding ways to earn money on a daily basis, doing things I do daily anyhow. That is money I always put in a separate account or let it build up online where I have earned it, so I can then have it ready when I am all set to book my travel. To me it’s money I don’t expect or count on, so I am always excited to see how much I have built up in a years time in my accounts. And when I book my travel I make sure to check many different places so I can get the best deals for what I am looking to do.
First, I find ways to earn money. Ways like using sites that offer cash back when shopping. My favorites are Ebates, BeFrugal, and TopCashBack. I love these sites and have earned myself close to $1000 in a years time just shopping from home. And these sites offer great travel deals that you can book and earn money back on. When my husband and I traveled in December, I booked our hotels, while on the road, thru BeFrugal. Nothing better than laying my head on a pillow in a hotel, I saved money on!
Being a blogger I find many ways to earn money from home. Aside from the cash back sites, I used a lot of affiliate sites like ShareaSale, and Amazon. When people shop and buy things I promote I earn a commission. It is great because I can share my love of products, and earn when others fall in love. If you have ever clicked a link online, be it on a site, on Facebook, Twitter, etc., it is most likely an affiliate link of some sort and someone earned a commission from your purchase. From all of us who use affiliate links… we thank you! You can also join Izea and make money by doing campaigns with them. I do pretty good with them since I have all my social networks connected. Mostly paid tweets, but they all add up.
Making extra money from home is not as hard as one might think. The Penny Hoarder did a great post on it. For some it might not be extra money, as times are tough all around. But, if you can spend a little time here and there using these online tools you will be surprised what you can rack up for helping out with bills, or for your travel.
A few other ways to make extra money is by joining Swagbucks, or getting into a direct sales company. With Swagbucks you earn when you search. You can do surveys, shop through them, do special offers, etc. You earn Swagbucks that you can then use to buy giftcards. I have earned many gift cards, which I then put aside to use for our gas or meals when traveling.
My husband and I love to travel. Hence,… the site you are currently on. I started That Traveling Chick to be able to post about our travel. Boy, I sure have a lot of past travel to write about, but life is busy so I am working on adding things when I can. Currently I am researching great Alaska vacations, and another Florida Disney trip for myself. I love Disney, and have a good friend in Florida who will meet me there this fall for a fun few days living like kids again. When I am looking for travel I make sure to cross all my t’s and dot all my i’s, because there are so many great deals out there we just have to make sure we get the one that fits us the best. Fare Buzz has some great prices on travel, no matter where you are going. Save on flights, hotels, and packages. Endless Vacation Rentals is another one I use. Great packages, great prices and they offer a lot of last minute deals. TripAdvisor is one of my favorites. I not only use them to research places, but also to book travel on. And, I leave my own reviews on there and actually have earned many badges doing so. Looking for just a place to stay, check out Hotels.com for great rates on rooms all over the world. And if you are a Disney freak like me, check out Florida Ticket Station for great prices on theme park tickets. Or maybe you want some fun in Sin City ? Check out the great deals on Las Vegas vacations. Regardless of where you are planning to travel too… make sure you have fun. Check out all our great posts on Travel Tips too.
I know for me, when I travel I like to make sure I have my main stuff booked. Like where we will stay in our destination spot. If we fly, I of course have that booked as well. But, we generally drive and that makes for a lot of fun for us. We book our hotels on the road because we never know how much we will drive each day. We might stumble across fun places to visit on our drive so we just kinda go with the flow 😉 If you have checked out my blog, you will see we like to have fun. Do you? Tell me how you save for your vacations, and how you save on booking them.
I love to book most of my travel with Expedia.com because you can get some of the best deals there. Check them out.
