Don’t you just love spring? Well, I do but here in Minnesota it doesn’t come as fast as it does in other parts of the country. Well, I guess the date is the same all over as far as spring goes, but the weather and changes just don’t happen as fast for us. You would think I would be used to it since I have lived here my entire life, but nope.. I am not!
Sometimes when I look outside (like this morning) and see yet more snow on the ground I just want to cry! Really Minnesota!! When will you turn into Florida, is what I often mumble. But, that is silly as I know it never will and the reason I live where I do is because Minnesota is beautiful with it’s 4 full changing seasons and the fact we don’t deal with many of the natural disasters that many other states deal with.
One thing I do to keep in the spirit of the changing seasons is to consume products that make me feel in the mood. Smoothies always put me in a spring/summer mood. Even though I do enjoy them year round, switching things up for the seasons helps me big time.
This is a great smoothie with lots of flavor and goodness to it. It is a Blueberry Cranberry Smoothie. Check out the recipe and the options below.
1 1/2 cups blueberries (I use frozen blueberries to make the smoothie thicker)
2/3 cranberry juice (use pure cranberry with no sugar)
2/3 cup of plain yogurt (I use Greek)
1/2 – 1 Tablespoon Collagen Powder
Blend everything until well combined. Pour into your favorite glass, add a straw, and enjoy!
Now, for me right now I enjoy my smoothies starring outside at the snow. But, when weather warms up my smoothies are enjoyed on my deck, over looking my beautiful lake.
