Setting The Temperature High
Getting the temperature right in your home is all about balance. If you set the thermostat too low, then you’ll probably feel uncomfortable, but, if you go to high, you create the perfect climate for mold, bacteria, and dust mites to live. To prevent the spread of these nasties in your home, you should keep humidity levels below 50% and set the heat no higher than 70 degrees. If you can grab a blanket or throw on a sweater, then turn the thermostat down a few degrees more.
Wearing Outside Shoes Indoors
The outside world is far from a healthy place. In fact, it’s absolutely full of harmful toxins, dirt, and bacteria, all of which can be picked up on your shoes. This means that, when you wear your outside shoes around the house, you heighten the risk of tracking unhealthy pollutants around the place. The easiest way to avoid this is to remove your shoes at the door. Make sure that you have a dedicated space to store this footwear and another one for any indoor shoes you wear.
Using The Wrong Vacuum
Every home needs a vacuum cleaner, but not every vacuum cleaner should have a home. If the vacuum in your house doesn’t have a HEPA filter, then it definitely doesn’t deserve yours. Without this filter, vacuums do more harm than good, as they scatter germs and allergens around the house as you use them. Skipping Regular Chimney Maintenance

Start by clearing out any clutter from each room and then, if necessary, add extra storage so that all of your belongings have a place to stay.
Owning Too Many Plants
Most people believe that having plants in the home makes the place healthier, and, while this is true to a certain extent, it doesn’t always work that way. If you own too many houseplants, then they’ll have more of a negative effect on your home environment than a positive one. This is because the warm and wet soil in each of your plant pots provides a good habitat for mold to grow. For this reason, you should stick to two or three small plants or one big one in each room.
