The Power of Cloves
Time to grab this yummy smelling spice and put it to good use.
Cloves are great for Congestion RX. A tea that contains cloves can help you kick a respiratory infection. They work as an expectorant, loosening mucus in the throat and esophagus so you can cough it up. Make a tea by combining 2 cloves, a cinnamon stick, and 2 crushed cardamon seeds in an infuser, place in a mug with your tea bag and add boiling water. Steep for 1-2 min and enjoy.
One thing I love to do is make a sachet with cloves. This gives your clothes a great, intoxicating aroma and also helps freshen up musty spots like basements. Whole cloves, put in the bottom of a old clean sock, or nylon stocking, or in a piece of material and tied up with a cute ribbon makes a great sachet. You can also add in some cinnamon stick pieces to give it a twist.
Got acne? Try cloves and say bye bye to acne. Make a mask with 1 tsp of ground cloves, 1 tsp honey, 3 drops of fresh lemon juice ~ mix in a bowl and apply to entire face. Leave on for 20 minutes then rinse off.
Great household cleaner ~ Add a dash of clove oil (1/2 tsp) to 2 cups of water and put it in a spray bottle. Great for any surface.
And best of all ~ Sprinkle clove powder on any of your baked favorites to boost your source of manganese.
What are your favorite things to do with cloves? Now that fall is around the corner I am stocking up on cloves because I love the warm, and inviting smell they have and it makes me think of the Holidays.

Great tips! I love cloves, their taste and smell, and the household cleaner thing caught my eye. I’m definitely going to give that a try!
I love cloves. I have a few bath products with clove in them and love the smell after I use them.
I have never heard of using cloves for acne, I am going to have my daughter try that!
Im from India and cloves are famous in helping with digestion. A lot of Indian restaurants keep cloves handy to give out after a meal!
I didn’t realize that cloves were so powerful. Acne plagues me so I need to try boosting my diet with cloves and see if that helps.
I was amazed too because I love cloves and have always tried to use them when I could.
I adore the scent of cloves but I had no idea of the many other uses! My poor daughter has a mild acne problem, I’m doing to try this ‘recipe’ for her, after all, I have all those ingredients in my pantry!
Thank you!
