The end of the year is a great time to reflect on the year, and make plans for the upcoming year. Unlike a lot of people it is my favorite season of all. Though it might be cold, it’s really incredible to see blankets of snow covering everything you see! It should come as no surprise that Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday of all. Of course, the presents have always been nice to get, but I honestly still have just as much fun coming up with interesting holiday gift ideas for all of my friends and family. Ask anyone I know, and they’ll tell you they have never gotten a fruitcake, or an ugly sweater from me!
I like to make sure that my Christmas presents come from the heart, that way, they’ll reach the heart. I know it’s only September, but to put it in perspective it is actually less than 100 days away! I am already starting to put together a great list for all of the people I know.
If you are interested in putting together a list for your coworkers, friends, family, or neighbors start with thinking outside of the box. That sounds cliché but it’s not. Most people who give gifts think that a gift card means the same thing as a handmade thoughtful present. The rest of us know that this is not true, whatsoever.
A thoughtful memento starts out with knowing who the person is, and if they have any immediate needs. The next time you spend a day with the person you are gift-shopping for, take a look around their home, and do some covert research. Do you see a broken appliance, or a pair of shoes that used to look lovely? Those are great indicators that most people never pay attention to.
If you can’t find any overt clues like this, listen to what that person says. Chances are, they will reveal what they want or need without even meaning to. This does not mean they are dropping hints, it just means they are thinking out loud. Picking up on those kinds of things will help you seem like a mind reader when they tear the wrapping off of the package.
Giving the right gift is an art, but it also makes you a better listener, and a more detail-oriented person. I like to pick all of my items up in the same place, and my secret is ordering ahead, and online. That way I skip the Christmas rush at store. Ltdcommodities.com makes it easy for me to find everything I need without any hassle. Best of all, I won’t break my present budget which always comes in handy for the upcoming year!
