DNA EFG RENEWAL PRODUCTS REVIEW

I was asked if I would like to test and review a skin care line developed by Dr. Ronald Moy, that was designed to target and repair damaged skin and defend against future natural and pre-mature aging factors.

That sounds nice doesn’t it? Now what does that really mean – it means it’s supposed to help diminish wrinkles, brown spots and skin discoloration. Well, I have some brown spots brought on by sun damage so I was willing to try the products.

I was sent a DNA Travel Companion Kit which included:

DNA Renewal Foaming Cleanser – pretty self-explanatory, use it to clean your face both AM and PM
DNA Intensive Renewal – Refine tone & texture, repair and hydrate skin
DNA Night Renewal – For PM use, regenerate, repair and hydrate
DNA Defense SPF 30 – AM use, UVA and UVB sun protection

The Renewal Foaming Cleanser is free of artificial fragrances, sulfates, and parabens. It contains glycolic acid to help with cell turnover. It left my skin feeling very clean, without feeling dry. It only takes a small bit to lather and clean the entire face and rinses easily.

The Intensive Renewal is to be used both morning and evening. It contains Alba Flower which helps soothe the inflammation associated with hyper-pigmentation and age spots. It feels soothing, non-greasy, as it goes on and my skin felt soft afterwards.

The Night Renewal is to be used after evening cleansing. It helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles and improves skin firmness and elasticity. I loved this, it was lightweight and my skin felt hydrated.

The Defense SPF 30. Along with protecting your skin against harmful UVA and UVB rays, this sunscreen contains Vitamin E and Vitamin A, which provide the skin with additional antioxidant protection against damage from free radicals.

I usually feel that you cannot tell if a product is actually working for you unless you use it for at least 4 weeks. But after 10 days of using these products, I felt I could see a change in the texture of my skin, and my sun spots were fading.

Revitalize Organics: One step closer to a healthier home, body and world. Revitalize Organics has an aromatherapy line of body care products that are made with all organic ingredients. They also have organic Pet Shampoo and Baby Wash.

Of the products I reviewed from Revitalize Organics this one is my favorite! The Fast Lane – Energizing Hand Soap, It is a whole lot of awesome. The scent is great, mixtures of grapefruit and ginger. But what I liked the most is that you only need a small amount to get a great lather. Our house is under renovation so at the moment we only have cold water to our sinks and it has been a challenge to get other soaps to lather without hot water. But this energizing hand soap worked like a charm. It actually cleaned Crisco off my hands better than my dish soap! Yes, it costs more than the soap you can pick up at the five and dime but it lasts much longer, works better, is safe for environment and is also part of the Get One, Give One Program (Which I will talk more about later).

Another product I had the opportunity to try was The Fast Lane – Energizing Shower Gel. Day one, it worked great. I loved the fresh aroma, especially in the morning. It cleaned and lathered well and after wards while rinsing out my loofah it seemed to remove all those oils that had built up from other shower gels. But the Energizing Shower Gel worked a little too well because the second day I used It, it had removed much of my skins natural oils, I was left feeling dry. I don’t have oily skin so I couldn’t use this product every time I shower. It would be great if they had a body oil for after you shower, same scent would have been perfect because again, I loved the scent.

Last but certainly not least was, The Fast Lane – Energizing Castile Soap. I love castile soaps, they are incredible versatile. You can use them to wash laundry, dishes, your face and body, etc. If you haven’t used castile soaps before, the consistency takes some getting use to because it is a lot thinner than other soaps. Although it is a multi-purpose product I narrowed my testing to two things. I used Revitalize Organics Castile Soap as a face wash and as a shaving gel. Washing my face with this castile soap I had a great lather. It left my face squeaky clean, removed all my makeup, plus it helped clear away some of my acne! Now, if you want an INCREDIBLY close shave use this product! It isn’t mentioned as a shave gel on the Revitalize Organics website, but believe me it works. The razor would just glide with little effort and the next day I didn’t have a single bump or razor burn, and usually I get those little break outs from shaving. My legs are so smooth! I also think that this soap would be great for when you travel. Instead of packing 5 bottles of different products you could just toss a single bottle of this Energizing Castile Soap in your bag.

Revitalize Organics also has a Get One, Give One Charity Program that I think is just wonderful! For every regularly priced item you buy, they donate an equal amount to a charity in need. They donate to infant-related charities, animal shelters and health clinics, helping cut back on the use of chemical detergents that can be harmful to humans, animals and the environment. This is a company that isn’t all about the green back dollar but a greener world.

The Ugly C Word ~ Cancer

Cancer is one of those words that can bring tears to my eyes. Well, not the word itself but what it does to many many people every single day all over the world. Life is hard enough for people and then when one has to throw an illness such as Cancer into the mix it puts a whole new spin on life and trying to survive. It is a hard struggle for anyone who is diagnosed with it. Family and Friends can only lend support and sit and wait as the people we love struggle so hard to stay with us and fight this terrible disease.

My husband is now 1 year Cancer free. He found out in April of 2011 that he had kidney Cancer. For him it was the shock of his life and fo me I felt so helpless as there was nothing I could do but just be there for him. We made it thru the surgery and the recovery and are very lucky his Cancer was caught early and treatable.

My husbands Mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1990. She had a double mastectomy and went thru months and months of treatments. She became very ill and the family wasn’t sure if she would make it. Luckily she is a fighter and still with us today and has been Cancer free since. Breast Cancer is something I often worry about. The breast cancer statistics are good and so knowing those puts my mind at ease some. No, not saying I don’t still worry.. but I know that if that is what is in store for me and my life that I will be strong and do my best to be a survivor.

I have lost a few people in my life due to Cancer. It is a long road, a sad road and one I wish nobody had to face.
