Energy ? What is that you ask? LOL! Well, it is one of those things that people seem to be lacking these days. I know that I lack it. Might be the fact I never get much sleep, or my Fibromyalgia, or just that life is so busy and that makes me tired. How about you? Do you lack the energy you need to get thru your day ?
There are some great ways to get a boost of energy during the day. So, if you don’t have time to power nap, or just not a power nap kind of person then you will want to read on. My Dad is a power nap person. Never understood how he can sit in his recliner and fall asleep for 15 minutes, and be recharged and ready to take on the world. If I do that, I am down for the count and the rest of my day is shot. I find myself just pushing thru my day no matter how tired I am in hopes that when my head hits the pillow at night I will sleep hard. Well, for me that just doesn’t happen so I look for things to help me with my energy during the day.
I keep things on hand that I can snack on that are power packed. Things like nuts, raisins, trail mix, pre-workout drinks or nutrition bars. I myself look for products that have ingredients my body can handle. If my body doesn’t like an ingredient than I am worse off and need more than just an energy boost. My husband likes the Celsius, but I do not. The taste is good, and he even liked how it gave him a boost of energy. Me, I will not drink it as it has sucralose in it and I stay away from artificial sugar. The USANA nutrition bars on the other hand I really like. My favorite is the peanut butter bar. YUM!
No matter what you choose to eat to try and boost your energy you want to make sure you eat/drink in moderation. Keeping track of your daily calorie intake, and doing your body good with exercise.
Speaking of exercise, did you know that is also a good way to boost your energy level. If you have a desk job, it is a nice energy boost to get up, and take a 10 minute walk, anywhere you can. Or maybe drop to the floor and pump out some push ups, and crunches. Or maybe even do some squats. How about some jumping jacks ? Or if you are low on energy you can crank the tunes and just dance. So many ways to get an energy boost, natural and by food/drink consumption.
