Celebrate National Vitamin Day with #VitaMelts
Did you know that January 29th is National Vitamin Day? I am sure not to many people know that. With all the specials days all year long it is hard to keep what day is for what, straight. But, National Vitamin Day is a very special day. No, it isn’t Christmas and there is no tree with presents, and it isn’t Thanksgiving and there is no table piled high with turkey and fixings, nor is it Valentine’s Day so you won’t find flowers and box of chocolates waiting for you. But, what you will find is me telling you all about my pledge to live healthier and helping you to pledge the same. As every day passes we all need to take time to think about the most important person in our life, which is you (me). Staying strong and healthy inside and out is the way we can help others because when we are healthy we set an example to those around us. When you glow, people ask you what you are doing, and they also want your glow. So, share your glow
Eating healthy, exercising, getting good sleep, and avoiding stress are all great ways to live healthy. All things I take great pride in doing. But, did you know that no matter how healthy and clean you think you might be eating, you still could be lacking important vitamins and minerals from your diet. Did you know that we need a certain amount of vitamins a day? Here is a breakdown of what ones body should have daily.
Calcium ~ Women under 50 need 1000 mg, and over 50 need 1500 mg.
Folic Acid ~ 400mcg for women, and 600 mcg for pregnant women.
Zinc ~ Adult males need about 11 mg of zinc per day and adult females need about 8 mg of zinc per day.
Omega 3 ~ 1000 mg ~ A combination of EPA (400) and DHA (300) and the rest from Omega 3
Vitamin B6 ~ 2 mg
Vitamin K ~ 90 mcg
Vitamin A ~ 5000 IU
Vitamin E ~ 30 IU
Vitamin D ~ 400 IU
Vitamin B12 ~ 6 mcg
Vitamin C ~ 60 mg
It might be a bit overwhelming, but when you eat a healthy balanced diet and ad in some great vitamins like Nature Made VitaMelts you will be right where you need to be.
Have you seen or tried the VitaMelts yet? One of the great things about these vitamins is that you don’t even feel like you are taking vitamins because they taste so good and melt so easily in your mouth to be better absorbed in your body.
VitaMelts come in 6 different flavors. Zinc for Immune Support ~ Honey Lemon Flavor, Vitamin D for Bone and Immune Health ~ Creamy Vanilla Flavor, Vitamin C for Immune Support ~ Juicy Orange Flavor, Relax ~ Green Tea Mint Flavor, Energy for Energy Production ~ Berry Flavor and Sleep to help Support Sleep ~ Chocolate Mint Flavor.
And as I shared with you before, my 2013 Healthy Pledge is that I am going to start taking better care of myself. I will make time to fit my exercise in, along with making healthier food choices and taking my vitamins on a regular basis. Taking care of myself means that I can then take care of those I care about. So, for me that is a win win.
How about you? Do you have a 2013 Healthy Pledge you would like to share with me?

I am religious about supplementing. It’s so important. Thanks for bringing awareness to this topic. I had no idea there was a national day dedicated to it. Ya learn something new everyday!
I had no idea there was a national vitamin day. I really want to focus on getting better at taking vitamins and being well rounded this year.
Happy Vitamin Day! We take vitamins regularly here to help us meet all our needs. My healthy pledge is to get more active as a family!
Nature Made is the brand I typically go to when purchasing Vitamins. I’m excited to know there is a National Vitamin Day!
i don’t have a 2013 Healthy Pledge, but only because we try to eat as healthy as possible, and I have been taking my vitamins, along with the kids everyday! I have only ever tried the VitaMelts Sleep, and I must say they are delicious, the kids thought I was eating candy and begged for it!
I believe vitamins are important. Around here we all take a multi-vitamin, vitamin D and vitamin C daily.
These sound great, I may have to look into getting them!
I always hate taking vitamins in the form of pills. These sound like they would work much better for me!
Thanks,
Dawn

Vitamins can be so confusing with all the different bottles of things in a store. It is nice to know just what we actually need.
I have GOT to try these Vitamelts. I am sure they would help my energy levels so much.
I love them and use them every day. So easy to take and they taste good
I have tried vitamin melts and I really like the convenience.
