Top 5 Unhealthiest Junk Foods

Kimberly Snyder, celebrity nutritionist and author of The Beauty Detox Solution shares the top 5 worst fast/junk foods
and gives her tips on great alternatives to stay guilt free and bikini ready!

1.      Fried chicken

Made from conventional chicken laden with hormones and antibiotics, covered with gluten-containing breading and chemicals like MSG and salt, and fried in cheap, rancid oils, fried chicken is high in calories, fat, and other chemicals that can make you sick. Skip it altogether. Please, please just never eat fried chicken.

1.      Deep fried cheese sticks

Take cheese (loaded with fat, salt, hormones and antibiotics), bread it, and deep fry it. How does that even sound as if it might be “food”? Skip them and have some veggie sticks with hummus, instead.

2.      Fish and chips

Many people select this as a “healthy” alternative in fast food, but it is anything but that. Fish serves as a sponge that mops up all of the toxic chemicals from the sea. Bread it in wheat flour (gluten) and fry it up, and you’re looking at an unhealthy meal. Avoid fish unless you know where it comes from, and opt for a salad instead.

3.      Pepperoni pizza

Cheese and white flour combined with nitrosamine-containing salty processed meats, pizza is toxic and unhealthy. Why not try some brown rice or quinoa pasta with tomato sauce instead?

4.      Nachos

Corn chips loaded with cheese, meat and beans and then dipped in sour cream? Really?? Dairy, hamburger, salt, and GMO corn are just a few of the health issues associated with this high fat, high calorie snack. Instead, have some vegetable sticks dipped in salsa.

Friends ‘Til the Blend!

Bananas and strawberries go SO well together that we couldn’t resist whipping up this twist on our classic Strawberry Cloud. Especially once we saw the latest over-caloried slurpable concoction being churned out at Carl’s Jr. Read, blend, and sip…

Ingredients:
2/3 cup light vanilla soymilk
1 tbsp. sugar-free fat-free banana-flavored instant pudding mix
Half a 2-serving packet (about 1/2 tsp.) sugar-free strawberry powdered drink mix (like Crystal Light Energy Wild Strawberry)
4 frozen unsweetened strawberries, partially thawed
Half a medium banana, sliced into coins and frozen
1 1/2 cups crushed ice or 8 – 12 ice cubes
2 tbsp. Fat Free Reddi-wip

Directions:
In a large glass, combine soymilk, pudding mix, and powdered drink mix. Stir thoroughly, until mostly dissolved. Transfer to a blender. Add all remaining ingredients except Reddi-wip.

Blend at high speed until thoroughly mixed. If needed, remove blender from the base, stir mixture, and blend again. Pour into the large glass and top with Reddi-wip. Enjoy!!

Delicious and 100 Calories


I recently decided to try the Yoplait Delights parfait cups and fell in love!! I love yogurt, and these are soooooo gooooood!! I love the lemon torte the most. I usually eat the regular Yoplait yogurt and each one has 170 or more calories..so these new Delights are great as they are only 100 calories each. That is a huge plus!

What’s for Dinner ~ Monday

Bayou Bourbon Salmon ~ fresh garden pea pods, green beans seasoned with Green Tea Peppercorn seasoning ~ Baby reds seasoned with Green Tea Peppercorn seasoning, Salad and bread.

I took a 4 Salmon fillets and smothered them in our Bayou Bourbon Glaze(Available Sept 1), wrapped then in tinfoil and put them on the grill, medium heat for 15 min.

Fresh garden pea pods & green beans, wrapped in tinfoil, drizzled with olive oil and seasoned with our Green Tea Peppercorn seasoning ( Won’t be available after Aug 31st)

Fresh baby red’s, wrapped in tinfoil, drizzled with olive oil and seasoned with our Green Tea Peppercorn seasoning ( Won’t be available after Aug 31st – Get yours today)

Fresh Salad & Bread.

What a feast this is… Mmmm…. My hubby is just lovin it!!
