Seven Exciting Activities To Do In Your 20s
Those glorious years between your 20th and your 30th might be the most freedom any of us ever have. You’re old enough to make your own decisions but those decisions need to be sensible ones so make sure you spend the time making the most fun and most exciting decisions you can.
Activity 1: Travel
Now this is obviously a huge one and one that could take a whole article to describe but it’s too important to miss out here. Whether you’re backpacking in Australia or hitting the slopes in the alps, your 20s are the best time to take off on a plane, by foot or in an old beater you picked up for a song.
Activity 2: Extreme Sports
As a frail 30 year old I can attest to the fact that when you start hitting adulthood, your willingness to throw yourself down things and off things for fun wanes somewhat. Take the opportunity now to try all the daring sports your medical insurance might not cover at a later date.
Activity 3: Moving Somewhere New
Much like travelling, this is about experiencing something of the world before your doors start closing. Whether you move to a new town in the same country or you decide to go further afield, a lot can be learned by moving away and you can grow a lot as a person by immersing yourself in a new place with new people.
Activity 4: Pick Up A New Hobby
This one can probably be done at any age but it’s great to pick up a life long hobby when you’re young enough to give it a real good go. Perhaps a musical instrument or maybe something as simple as darts. If you do go down the dart route then I can heartily recommend it as a life long player myself, all you need to do is buy a dart board in Australia and get some darts along with a wall you don’t mind puncturing a bit and you’re good to go!
Activity 5: Date A Lot
You’re young, you’re beautiful and you’re probably not tied down so why not get out there and meet people in the same position. Whether your life plan is to get married one day or stay single forever, your 20s will probably be the most active period of dating for you so don’t be afraid, get out there and meet some special people!
Activity 6: Get Your Driving License
This might sound mundane but the avenues that open up to a person with a driving licence are insane. This isn’t so much about doing something exciting as giving yourself the option to do lots of exciting things. Whether you live in a big city where your own personal transport is not so necessary or in the country where it’s a must, a car can get you to places that your own two feet and public transport just cannot.
Activity 7: Flying Drones
Now this really is one for the modern day. When I was growing up, access to remote control aircraft was restricted and expensive but nowadays even the most strapped for cash thrill seeker can set themselves up with a flying machine. If you’re looking for recommendations on great pieces of kit then I can heartily recommend the DJI Phantom 4. It’s a really powerful and nippy bit of tech but does come at a slight cost. While the price tag may be a little weighty, it really is worth every penny.
