3 Ways to Find Enjoyment in Exercising

If you’re a busy woman who likes to stay trim like me, you’ll know that it’s very difficult to balance your working life and your social life with a consistent exercise regime.  Let’s face it, exercising isn’t necessarily the most fun way to pass your time, so when it comes to which element of your life you’re going to let slip, it’s almost certainly going to be exercise.  There’s a simple way to stop this from happening though, and that’s to make your exercising enjoyable.  To help you, we’ve put together three ways to find enjoyment in exercising.

 

Ditch the Gym and Pick up an Extreme Sport

If you’re one of those four out of five people who are subscribed to an expensive gym but never go, then you should seriously consider quitting because it’s ineffective and is losing you money.

Perhaps you need something a little bit more extreme to help you become motivated? Many people find that exercising for exercising’s sake isn’t enough of a lure to get them to the gym, but imagine if you could get fit while learning an exciting new sport like skiing.

Remember, you don’t need to live somewhere snowy to make the skiing option work these days because there are a large number of indoor skiing slopes you can visit.  All you’ll need is some protective clothing like a special ski helmet, and you’re set to have a truly enjoyable exercise experience.

 

Ever Been on an Experience Day?

Doing the same exercise routine can be monotonous, so add a bit of variety to your work-out by going on one-off experience days.

You could go skydiving, abseiling or even parachuting; the point is that these all adventurous exercise experiences that you could share with your friends to amp-up the fun-factor in your workout.

 

Play More Videogames

Exercise games – or exergames – like Wii Fit or Dance Dance Revolution will help you shed weight while you have fun, and it’s all done from the comfort of your home.  Research shows that now you can combine your social life with your exercise routine so ultimately, you’ll have more fun doing both. Win-win.

As you can see, there are lots of ways you can find enjoyment in exercising, so give one of these ideas a go and you’re sure to see the calories drop off, all while you’re having tonnes more fun.

  1. Great advice! I belong to a gym and am just getting back into regular exercise. It’s good to know there are other and sometimes more fun options too.
